जगज्जाल पालम् कचत् कण्ठमालं शरच्चन्द्र भालं महादैत्य कालम्। 

नभो-नीलकायम् दुरावारमायम् सुपद्मा सहायं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ||1||

सदाम्भोधिवासं गलत्पुष्पहासम् जगत्सन्निवासं शतादित्यभासम्।

गदाचक्रशस्त्रं लसत्पीत-वस्त्रं हसच्चारु-वक्रं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ||2||

रमाकण्ठहारं श्रुतिव्रातसाराम् जलान्तर्विहारं धराभारहारम्।

चिदानन्दरूपं मनोज्ञस्वरूपं धृतानेकरूपं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ||3||

जराजन्महीनम् परानन्द पीनम् समाधान लीनं सदैवानवीनम्।

जगज्जन्म हेतुं सुरानीककेतुम् त्रिलोकैकसेतुं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ||4||

कृताम्नाय गानम् खगाधीशयानं विमुक्तेर्निदानं हरारातिमानम्।

Meaning of Vishnu Strotram in English:

Who is the protector of the whole world, who wears a garland around his neck, whose head is like the moon shining in autumn and who is the death of the great demons.

I repeatedly worship Lord Vishnu, whose color is blue like the sky, who is Ajay, the master of illusory powers, whose consort is Goddess Lakshmi.

Who always resides in the ocean, Whose smile is like a flower in bloom, Who resides in the whole world, Who appears like a hundred suns. I worship Lord Vishnu again and again who holds mace, disc and weapon in his hand, who is adorned in yellow clothes, who has a lovely smile on his beautiful face.

Who has the symbol of Goddess Lakshmi in his necklace, who is the essence of Veda speech, who walks in water and bears the weight of the earth. I worship Lord Vishnu again and again, who always has a blissful form and attracts the mind, who has assumed many forms.

One who is free from birth and death, who is full of bliss, whose mind is always steady and calm, who always appears fresh. Who are the factors of origin of this world. Who is the protector of the army of the gods. And I repeatedly worship Lord Vishnu who is the bridge between the three worlds.

The one who sings the Vedas, who rides on the king of birds Garuda, who is the liberator and the destroyer of enemies. Who is dear to the devotees, who is the root of the universal tree. I repeatedly worship Lord Vishnu who nullifies all sorrows.

Who is the master of all deities, whose hair is as black as a bee, whose body is part of the earth and whose body is as clear as the sky. I repeatedly worship Lord Vishnu, whose body is always divine, who is free from the bondage of the world, whose abode is Vaikuntha.

I worship Lord Vishnu again and again, who is the most powerful of the deities, who is the best among the three worlds, who has only one form, who is always victorious in battle, who is brave among the heroes, who lives on the banks of the ocean.

On whose left side Lakshmi resides, who sits on Sheshnag, who is attained by sacrifices and who is free from attachment, whose songs are sung by sages, who is served by the gods and who is beyond the qualities Yes, I worship that Lord Vishnu again and again.

This Ashtaka of Lord Hari, which is like a garland on the neck of Murari, whoever recites it with a true heart, attains Vaikunth Lok. There is no doubt that he becomes free from sorrow, grief, birth and death.
